We’re pleased to announce that we’ve integrated Dojo’s Charting and Filtering Table widgets with Lightstreamer’s Comet server. A demo is available, as is the example source code to try it out yourself.
From the Dojo Toolkit perspective, we aim to make Dojo work efficiently with any commercial or open source Comet server instance, and partnering with Lightstreamer to make this happen was outstanding.
And from the SitePen perspective, we’re highly motivated to build web applications for our clients with real-time capabilities. This proof of concept shows how live charting could be used in your application to plot any dynamic data source without having to rely on a plug-in solution!

According to Dylan from Sitepen the new version of Webkit (that’s the browser engine in Safari) is the fastest, by far for rendering SVG in the browser. Kind of interesting considering it doesn’t really work right now, but he says the new version is going to have a lot more kick ass drawing and graphics stuff in it. Nice! Also interesting because now that Apollo is using Webkit, Adobe is going to be involved with Safari and Mozilla/FireFox through Tamarin. [...]
Hey Dylan. Great pres at AjaxWorld…the graphics is looking really good! When did you say the new version of WebKit is going to be pushed with Safari? Also do you have a link to the page that listed the demos you showed in your talk?
