We start every engagement by talking to you in detail about your short- and long-term goals for the project. If you’ve got an existing codebase, our engineers will review that too. This process ensures that we always take the best approach from the start and that any hidden requirements or issues are revealed and documented before a single line of code is written. At the conclusion of this phase, we’ll work with you to create a customized development plan that meets your goals, your timeline, and your budget.
During the design phase, we focus primarily on how your users will interact with your application once it is finished. An iterative process of user feedback and wireframing helps us quickly pare down the workflow until it is as efficient and intuitive as possible. Once you are satisfied with the user experience, we move onto visual design where mockups that match your desired look are created. At the end of this process, you’ll have a complete understanding of how your application will look and function.
Once discovery and design are complete, our development team begins the process of actually writing the code for your new application. During this phase, your dedicated SitePen project manager acts as a single point of contact to ease communication and to ensure there is always at least one person with visibility of the entire project to keep everyone on schedule. We’ll coordinate team meetings as necessary, provide regular progress updates, and ensure all feedback is promptly captured, assigned & addressed.
Depending upon your needs, we’ll either commit our work daily to your code repository or deliver batches on a more traditional milestone schedule. If an unforeseen problem occurs that might delay final delivery, we will work with you proactively to determine the best way to get your project back on track. Prior to final delivery, we’ll perform two final rounds of quality assurance and one round of feedback to ensure your application is bug-free and ready to go live the moment you receive it.
